When a customer asks ChatGPT "who is the best dentist in Miami," the AI has a problem. It needs to answer confidently, but it has no verified source of truth for local business data. It is working from scraped web pages, outdated directories, and unstructured fragments scattered across the internet.
The result is unreliable. AI agents hallucinate business names. They cite businesses that have closed. They recommend services that do not exist. They cannot distinguish between a legitimate 20-year business and a spam listing created yesterday.
This cannot be solved by better web scraping or larger training datasets. It can only be solved by giving AI agents a purpose-built data source that is structured (machine-readable), verified (cryptographically signed), and attributed (every query logged, every citation tracked).
That is what an Agent Content Network is.
